Emily Kellum

Rebecca’s Rooms second project was a room that was fun and functional.  It was painted in this girl’s favorite thing – monkeys! The original bedroom door was transformed into a dutch door, closets were made into a sensory area and a toy box, and sun shades and curtains were added to her windows. A tv, dvd player, and new ceiling fan were also added. This wonderful room was made especially for Emily Kellum, daughter of Jim and Melissa Kellum.

Emily’s mom and dad, as well as her sister Shelbie were treated to a nights stay at the Fairfield Inn, as well as gift cards to Peppers and Harvey’s. Jim also received a gift card to Game Stop, Shelbie received a basket full of treats including gift cards to Books a Million and Old Navy, and Melissa received a gift card from Eden Medispa for a serenity package.

The team for this project included a host of volunteers! Everyone played very important parts, from the wonderful wall mural painting, decorating, installing electronics, sewing wood working, cooking for the crew and many other vital tasks. Teamwork was crucial to this project, and everyone was up for the task. It was definitely a work from the heart!

Emily’s first impression of the room was obvious – she was thrilled! It had all her favorite things! Her parents, sister, and other family members were amazed with the room, and very grateful.

Rebecca’s Rooms wishes to thank everyone that volunteered and had a part in Emily’s room.!
